We have the drivers and a well run organisation operating this service throughout the Parish.
The volunteer drivers have freely given their time and we believe that many more people in the parish could use the service, but are a little shy at coming forward.
Cllr John Wardle, who is the co-ordinator of the scheme, said "Ashover folk are very independent, and I know of many who could benefit; we all reach a time when we have to rely on others.”
If your regular lift can't take you, or your family has other commitments, why not join the service.
It costs £2 to register and from then on its only 40 pence a mile. Whether it’s a hospital or Doctor visit, to meet friends at the other end of the Parish, to get to the Dentist, Hairdresser, shops or the Rail Station; the service is for you. You are not putting anyone out; the Drivers are all volunteers and willing to help you...the service is not rationed and is for you!
If you want an application form or want to discuss how you can benefit phone Wendy Taylor at the Parish Hall (01246) 590005 or Cllr John Wardle on (01246) 590573.
