Smoke-Free Consultation by DCC

Derbyshire County Council is launching a consultation around increasing the number of smoke free spaces across the county.

The online consultation opens on Monday June 6 and runs until Monday 29 July.
Introducing further smoke-free public spaces will have the following benefits;

  • Reduce the uptake of smoking by children and young people by helping to de-normalise smoking
  • Reduce the risk of exposure to second-hand smoke, particularly for children
  • Reduce smoking-related litter, which is non-biodegradable as well as toxic to children, wildlife and the environment
  • Reduce fire risk

The consultation can be found at
