River Amber Update

River Amber Update

In our last update we reported Severn Trent's installation of additional holding tanks to increase local holding capacity from 58m3 to 208m3, as well as an upgrade of pumping equipment. At that time, Severn Trent anticipated completion of the work by Christmas.

We recently asked whether this upgrade was now operational and received the following from Severn Trent:

"I've now spoken to the local manager. The situation is:

1. We have built the tanks.

2. We have put in the new pumps.

3. The final piece of the jigsaw is to connect the pumps to the power supply, which is proving trickier than might be thought.

4. The manager has, however, lined up an appropriate contractor and we're very hopeful the work should be completed by mid-April – ie, the new system will be operational then.

It's probably worth us speaking mid-April to confirm that is the case"

We have made a diary note and will press for a further update in April.
