Annual Council Meeting 2025: Allocation of roles
Every year, usually just ahead of the ordinary monthly Parish Council meeting, we hold an Annual Council Meeting. In essence, this is pretty much a re-set for the next 12 months when councillor representation in the various working groups is reviewed.
Our parish council comprises 10 councillors. At the moment, we have 9 and we will shortly begin the process to fill the vacancy to bring us up to strength. Meanwhile, our council comprises:
John Cook, Jim Daykin, Steve Dronfield, Richard Fidler, Ted Hayward, Lucy Hunter-Bott, Bryony Hoggard, Ed Willmot and Mike Thomas.
In the first instance, nominations for Chair and Vice-Chair were discussed and Ed Willmot and Richard Fidler respectively were appointed.
Next, we reviewed the composition of three key working groups and the appointments to each was agreed as follows:
Finance: Jim Daykin, Richard Fidler, Ted Hayward, Lucy Hunter-Bott and Mike Thomas
Burial Board: Steve Dronfield, John Cook, Mike Thomas
Personnel: Richard Fidler, John Cook, Mike Thomas
Finally, we reviewed councillor representation against a series of headings which often feature in parish council meetings and roles were assigned as set out below.
